IS MEANINGFUL CINEMA HERE TO STAY IN INDIA OR IS IT JUST A FLASH IN THE PAN!

From silent movies to black and white films to technicolour, we have come a long way! who could have ever thought that a mere form of entertainment will become a trillion dollar industry and the most frantically and madly sought after career some day! It’s not that Indian cinema is any different from world cinema in any way but the content and substance of the cinema being made changes more randomly and sporadically than cinema anywhere on the globe. Indian cinema has seen its share of highs and lows, good and bad patches not to forget some hideous ones too, but the show must go on and so it has. Indian cinema and film- makers have sailed through all this and reached a point where they have hit the jackpot! Films made today are not just those masala, action or die- hard romantic garb. They are not something you just go, get entertained for flat 3 hrs and come back. Cinema today keeps you glued, makes an impact and most significantly leaves a mark in our memories and our heart. It not only makes us laugh and cry but also makes us think, makes us ponder again on our responsibilities. Instead of making jokes out of our very own country, it motivates us from changing the land where we belong in a way so that no one can make a joke of it. All in all cinema has become responsible and has started serving its rightful purpose.

So there’s no question about it being good or bad, the question is: is it here to stay? Have we sailed all through for this destination, or are we just stopping by and will again set out on a journey to who knows where? Well it would be heartening if the answer would be the former but its highly improbable as is everything else in the showbiz!

At the end of the day we should remember that making films is also a business, it works on the simple rule of economics: demand and supply! They are just service providers and would just offer what they know would sell for sure and earn profits, in a way of putting it, it’s a reflection of the present society. So, what we need to know is that the ball’s in our court, its upto us what we will end up watching, or for that matter upto us whether we want to think and do something about being alive or just dance around trees till the thunderstorm is here! PONDER ON.......

YOU ARE ALL YOU HAVE GOT!

Life can be really harsh at times, harsh enough to make or break any and every one of us! We either come out as diamonds through that coal dark phase or may just shatter in the way! people might only come to know about those who shone in the end but I don’t believe that those who never did make it, were losers in any way because they had the guts to sail through those times too, it’s just that they were washed away by the last test of tides. I am somewhere in between, I have made my choice and have gotten on the ride, but the end of the tunnel is nowhere close. The end result does intrigue me but it’s not all that I am making this journey for, this journey is my attempt to face and live the life I have wanted to, to see the world in the light of my dreams, to make the most out of it. It has its pros and cons, but just for the fear of being doomed I cannot sacrifice my vision because at the end of the day, like someone rightly said I am all I have got!

COULDN'T CARE LESS

When we were small, we always dreamt of being big, so that we don’t have to ask anyone before binging on chocolate, so that we could also watch that midnight show, so that we could also go out in the big and beautiful outside world all by ourselves, with no one holding our hands and no one to guide us. All of the biggies in the house used to tell us that we are lucky that we are not grownups; it’s a lot easier and a more cheerful world that we were enjoying! I failed to understand this then and today is no different! I figured, it does not take the years for you to become big and anxious about every penny spent and every step taken, it’s about how much you want to grow. Some people just happen to have this glass through which they see everything in a much more complicated light. My world, however, is still of that little kid in which there are endless possibilities, it’s never too late to do anything and there’s nothing in this world that can’t be achieved, it’s just the amount of time taken and the hard work put in that differs depending on the job at hand! I won’t put it in a way, that, i don’t want to grow up but rather i just happen not to grow up. I see my friends, being hell bent on being big someday, running in the rat race, simply put, just being mechanical. I am not saying that being ambitious is a bad thing but being mechanical isn’t either the best of them all. Can you not think of life in simpler terms? Everything big and intricate is always based on the simpler patterns of design.........many simple things coming together make it look what it finally does! I couldn’t care less if people don’t approve of my ways, I couldn’t care less if they would call me a little crazy, I couldn’t care less if I remain a kid till I die!

I HAVE TAKEN THE ROAD LESS TRAVELLED BY!

Starting from zilch is never easy. There’s nothing to fall back onto nor anyone or anything to tell you what to do and which direction to head towards! For sure there’s a lot to look forward to but definitely standing on ground zero is never the place you would dream yourself to be on! I am precisely in that spot and this blog is my way to hang on to life!

Every one of us thinks that we are special in our own unique way and I am no different. I don’t know whether feeling this way is the best thing in the world but there is no second opinion about that just to find our special place in the world, just to be a part of something special, we strive, and its nothing but this hard work and zeal that make ordinary people achieve extraordinary goals!

I hope that I am able to chip in some life in my blog and share with all, my zest and zeal to live and be a part of the thought process of many who share the same emotion. Till then, adios amigo!
